Prayer Time

Jonah
Last night, as we were getting ready to pray at the dinner table, Jonah asked this question:

"Why do we bow our heads and fold our hands when we pray? Since we are talking to God, shouldn't we do this?" (then he raised both hands and looked up - sort of like this picture, but not as dorky looking)

Our response: Go for it! Raise those hands, boy!
Hannah
One day, the kids and I saw a pretty bad car accident on the way to Jonah's school. I told the kids how when I see a wreck, I like to pray for the people who might be hurt by the accident. That morning all three of us prayed for the people involved in that wreck. It must have made a pretty big impact on Hannah because we can't pass even a car on the side of the road where Hannah doesn't point out that we need to pray for "those people whose car went off the road." Today, she saw a truck in a neighborhood that had some kind of trailer filled with debris of some sort. She decided that was a "wreck" and she prayed for it.
Also today, Hannah and I went with our playgroup to a nursing home to sing a few songs and hand out bookmarks. Hannah was such a sweetie as she handed out bookmarks. She would just stand there and smile at the people for an unusually long amount of time. (She may or may not have been waiting for them to tell her she was "sweetie" - I kind of sensed she wanted them to gush over her a little bit. Cute, nonetheless.) I know it brightened at least a few people's days to see all the kiddos. Tonight Hannah prayed for "all those people who couldn't walk good to get better."
