But isn't that how God works? He brings us through a cold season in which we feel alone or in some sort of desert place only to reveal himself in a spectacular way when we finally look up to see His Son who shines light on all the diamonds around us.
God is pretty cool like that.
I marveled at the frost that sparkled on the grass and rooftops this morning on the way to school. The kids and I decided that the frost looked like diamonds in the sunlight. Then I shared with them the song taken from the verses in Proverbs 3:14-15.
The words of the song are:
Lord, you are more precious than silver
Lord, you are, more costly than gold
Lord, you are more beautiful than diamonds
And nothing I desire compares with you.
I was having a moment right then and there on the drive to school. As I began to sing the song a second time, Hannah interrupted to say, "Mom, we heard you the first time." (She might not be walking in the Spirit this morning. You can join me in praying for her today.)
Seriously, my prayer for both kids this morning is that the Lord would someday, and in some way, WOW them with his "diamonds" the way he WOWed me this morning.
THIS Desert Song is on my playlist this morning. I will bring praise...

Thank you for sharing that. I needed it. And yes, I am waiting for the Lord to show me all the diamonds.
